David Gambhir

David is a Tax Partner at ResDev Tax Consultants Inc. and works in conjunction with William Stark, the founding partner of the Firm, to help maximize clients SRED Tax Credits where eligible.

After a 31 year career at the Canada Revenue Agency ( CRA ) David has significant experience in matters pertaining to SRED having conducted hundreds of SRED audits. In addition, David has also conducted audits of multinational corporations with the emphasis on transfer pricing methodology and non arms length transactions. David has also managed the activities of audit teams, advised and assisted team members and taxpayers in resolving contentious issues relating to the enforcement of the Income Tax Act. David has also been in charge of several special projects where he has led and advised team members and recommended audit positions which may have established the departments audit policy and internal procedure on certain tax issues.

In his spare time, David is an avid golfer and a competitive racquet sports player. He thoroughly enjoys his single malt scotches and red wines in the company of good friends. Reading and Jazz music are his other interests.

Joseph Tedesco, PH.D

Joseph Tedesco’s career has been in the field of biological chemistry. Before working with BeaconRD, he was often contracted as a scientist advisor to CRA (then known as Revenue Canada). There, he performed detailed science audits of SR&ED claims from most of the major pharmaceutical companies in Canada.
These audits involved, in total, claims of over 3 billion dollars.
Over the past 12 years, he has teamed with financial auditors in assisting many Canadian companies with the scientific and technological descriptions of their SR&ED activities.

He has two particular areas of scientific expertise that contribute to BeaconRD’s ability to assess and support such SR&ED work. First, he has a doctorate in neuropharmacology, working in the lab of Philip Seeman when they pioneered in the first identification of the dopamine receptor. Additionally he has a background in biochemistry. These disciplines enable him to deeply engage with a company’s scientists on projects ranging from biochemistry to clinical trials of drugs both new and old. Second, he has done considerable research on computational approaches to drug design. This latter expertise has often been used in critiquing SR&ED projects involving software development and information technology (IT).

Dr. Tedesco is qualified to assist SR&ED claims in pharmaceutical development, biochemical research, clinical trials, cosmetics, food products and certain areas of software development.
Joe was born in Toronto Canada and is a life-long Canadian citizen. He has an abiding interest in mathematical algorithms, chemical design, bicycling and mentoring young scientists.

Marvin Silbert

Marvin Silbert

In his role as Senior Manager, Chemical and Manufacturing, Marvin Silbert has successfully prepared several hundred SR&ED eligibility claims covering the development of a wide range of products and processes developed within the Canadian industrial sector. His clients have varied from very small to very large with some of the more exotic projects now operating on the International Space Station and down a few thousand metres into the ground.

Marvin initially, he pursued an academic career, but decided to move to industry and joined Ontario Hydro’s nuclear operations. He has successfully undertaken a number of projects that, although they took place before the inception for CRA’s SR&ED program, would have met all the criteria for fundamental scientific research (SR) and industrial process development (ED).

Marvin took that experience and became an independent consultant providing water-treatment optimization and troubleshooting services as well as training to a wide spectrum of industrial clients in Canada and the USA. He began working with Revenue Canada’s SR&ED program shortly after it was introduced and joined BeaconRD. He has remained involved with industry by providing technical advice to a number of major industrial plants in Canada along with a number of training courses in British Columbia, California, Dubai and Kuwait.

As a seasoned Delivery Executive, Rimi has developed, designed, managed and supported complex Enterprise Projects. Over the past 17 years, she has delivered & managed a large number of complex projects using applications such as SAP, PeopleSoft and SAAS applications (Success Factors). These technologies have provided me with widespread & deep experience in technology strategy; full life-cycle implementations, tactical resource talent vs technology delivery and people focused change management and training.

Her broad expertise spans from Banking and Finance, Healthcare, Pharmaceutical, Manufacturing, Mining, Industrial Automation, Transportation, Canadian and US Government, Telecommunications, Media, Retail and cloud shared services to name a few.

She is a versatile, performance-driven executive professional. As an experienced C-level advisor and with numerous successful enterprise implementations I bring tremendous experience in managing successful project life cycles. She is a highly skilled in troubled project remediation, adaptable to new technologies and achieve results through collaboration and expert communication.

Paul Wong

Paul designs electronics circuits and systems both professionally and as a hobby. He designed telecommunication equipment for cable system analysis and operations. He had been Assistant Director of Engineering for a Canadian Cable company. In CRA, he had reviewed over 300 SR&ED claims as a Research and Technology Advisor, and had participated in developing the Canadian Policy paper for SR&ED as a Research and Technology Manager before he left CRA.
